ok i guess CF is the new trend everyone is going to lately , all i see in this section is mainly CF threads

what is up with this??????

guess i am gonna have to start going with CF so i wont be a KNOOB! LOL

People are always asking about CF hoods.

I don't know where you have been.

CF is overdone, has been overdone for about a year now, dont get me wrong, some CF looks good, but a lot of it is just tacky, no offense meant, but what are people thinking when they get CF gas caps and wheel centers?

ya..... i know it has been around a while , maybe i just have never noticed all them before until tonight , but when i scanned threw i just saw thread after thread about CF hoods , pins , etc..........

carbon fiber is a glory material that race cars use... sadly it has turned into a bling bling thing casue of the sill import industry, its all about wieght and strength to me, like why make something out of something else when you can use cf, its lighter and stronger, and looks cool

Yeah, I think the bling-bling is the big reason people use it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the look of 2X2 Carbon Twill weave under a glossy topcoat. It looks great! Used properly, it also offers a lot of advantages. For the fabricator, like myself, the more people use it, the cheaper the prices on raw cloth get. That means I can make more and more things out of CF when ordinarily I would use fiberglass. Bulk CF prices can now be found for around $15/yard. This was unheard of 2 years ago. Kevlar is neat stuff too and has some advantages over CF in certain applications. Strength-weight, carbon fiber is stronger than steel and 10X stiffer. Great stuff!

Personally I like Carbon Fiber hoods and Interior Dash kits. I think they look phenomenal. I live somewhere where Carbon Fiber is not overdone and rarely seen so I can enjoy Carbon Fiber differently than people who live in areas where too many people over do it.

dont knock my cf wing..LOL..sure it has no other purpose but to look good but hey at least i dont have cf overlays and gauge pods..

You have a CF wing?

I called sqidskins about that CF hatch. I think I'm going to pick it up.
