What offset for 17's?

Ok, looking in my instruction manual I see that the offset for all 93's is 46mm. I'm looking at a set of maxxim wheels from JCW. should I go with 40mm or 45mm? What will fit? It makes sense to go with 45mm but I have had alot of things happen w/my dsm that make NO SENSE AT ALL. Help Please. (Yes, I already did a search and the people that asked this ? before were just left hangin')

40 or 45 is fine.... if you want to go buy the book just go with 45.. I have a 96 and I got a 40 and it fine...

40 will look better, will come out to the edge of the fender better instead of like 45's which are about an inch back into the fender.
