i was wondering if anyone knew if possible you could get your own chrome dip and if so where at?

Whats up man, Your from Ashtabula? Im over in willoughby.

Chrome dipping is costly , You may just want to have it done at a dipper. There are alot around.

Hit me up some time, I got a bunch of DSMs hitting up Thompson as soon as they open the track.

Caswell Plating has kits, info, etc on how to do it yourself. Chrome requires A LOT of current: 2 amps/square inch. Unless you are doing small stuff, I doubt you can get the current you need (at ~12 volts) to do stuff like intercooler pipes, etc.

How much would it cost to get my valve cover and other various parts dipped rather than going polished?

Would probably be cheaper to get stock chromes and sell your current rims.

where did you get that little smiling animation thingy???

like 2-0turbo said you can dip them but it requires more steps. also you need to be carefull when doing your valve cover. if you remember about 3 years ago matrix was selling the valve covers for our cars, they had to stop because once the cover was chromed it was not sealing right. on the bottom of our covers there is a little bead, if there is any flaws in the crome it will make the cover leak. i whould say just get it polished, if done right it will come out just as good as chrome. jason

Just to give you an idea on price. It cost me 500 to have the rims on bike bike crome dipped.

yes the stock rims are alumin. no they aint polished. they are dipped in a zinc coating ( as far as ive heard )

$500 to chrome dip your bike rims... DAMN. A friend of mine knows a guy who can chrome dip wheels for 15 a pop. Don't know if the offer still stands though. I figured chrome dipped wheels would rub off or something.

15 dollars a pop. That just seems 2 chaep to believe. 75 of that 500 went to shipping the wheels to the shop that does the dipping. When I say my bike I'm talking about my motorcyle.
