cd player install

im trying to install a cd player in my 95 talon tsi awd, but i cant get any power to the unit, do i have to remove the factory amp? Im really confused I've installed cd players before, is this a simple install?
i was going to tape the wires from car to the cd deck, I took the adapter off that went to the stock unit, but i cant find the power, i think my trouble may be caused by the amp, can someone please help.

why didnt you,just buy a ten dollar,wire harnes plug in?hook your wires of the cd player,into the harnes that you bought,and plug it in done ten minutes, were is this factory amp? what color is it?and is directly behind th stereo,and brass or gold? if it is, that is not a amp,and do not touch it,i guess it is kind of a amp,for your motor,also known as the ECM,

you can go to vfaq and find out on were on the ecu to splice in

The amp won't want to work with an aftermarket head. Just disconnect it and remove it. All the wiring you need is on the head unit plug. Go here
