What is the best way to polish out a carbon fiber hood?

I just purchased a carbon fiber hood, and I went to polish it out with a normal wax (Meguires Gold Class) and I think it actually made the hood look worse, what is the best way to shine these hoods up?

Use polish, not wax. I suggest Mother's polish. You usually polish anything before waxing it, it brings out the color
