Should i paint my hood black??

im thinking about painting my hood black but i dunno its a hard decision, look at my car pics and give me your opinion on this. thanks in advance.

I don't know, it wouldn't be the worst thing you could do, i personally wouldn't just because its a little too ricey for me and It's like what a lot of Honda guys do, which would be enough for me not to want to do it!

if you want the tuner look, dont be a poser, and get a real carbon fiber hood. Even then you still have the option of the CF look or painting it to match your car.

Lose the wing, and buy a real carbon fiber hood. Or buy a fiberglass hood and paint it black, but unless you have some serious fading problems etc I'd leave it.. The fast and the furious came out 9 years ago dude, not trying to be a dick just saying there are other eclipse styles.

I was trying to figure out the same thing and what im gunna do is use Plasti dip and paint it and if i dont like it i can always just peel it off

I have a white GSX and I am thinking of getting a carbon fiber hood, and I would not paint it. The contrast would look good, especially on a white car.

But as said above, get a different color hood if it is only a carbon fiber one. That looks good. Just don't get a stock black hood.

a black hood isn't bad but with that neon green paint scheme it would look really terrible.
with that green on it, even a carbon fiber hood would look like trash.

if i were you... and didn't want to lose that suicide green...
(sorry, but if my car was that green i would contemplate it...)
keep it how it is but definitely lose that transformer sticker... completely debadge the car
take off the mitsubishi emblems and eclipse and the gst spyder and anything else you can find at all...
then add like the porsche or lambo emblem where the transformer sticker is.
(kinda looks like the porshe horse, or is that lambo?... anyways...)
then lose your tail lights and do a conversion to whichever emblem you have.
with that colour it would def make it look more exotic.

WTF why ask? If you wanna make a "fast and the furious" car i say go for it. You But seriously it would look okay IMO if you two-toned it top half black bottom green and get gst/gsx spoiler, and a 97 front bumper.

OK you come and ask for opinions on the hood being painted black, but I can gaurantee you probably catch more grief for that wing then you ever will with a black hood.

To me the hood would look ok, but that wing definitely does not flow well with that car.

How about a compromise, you take the wing off and paint the hood black?

I agree with 1badvan. Please lose the wing. You'd have a nice looking car if you got rid of the sheet metal on back and bolted up and painted a 2gb front bumper. Just my opinion.

Imo, black hoods look just plain good. I guess my roof is rice because its black.... I dont know what half you guys are thinking, just because its black doesnt mean its poser cf. Single colored cars are boring imo and sometimes a black hood is the perfect touch.

my CF hood "failed" on me. hoodpins. really important things to have. installed.

now with a black hood on red car with gunmetal evo 8 rims. and the doorhandles are black too.
and with a black tint i dont think it looks so bad until i get it painted proper.
ill enjoy my rice whilst i have it.
