Hey, everyone. I recently purchased a 96 eclipse gs-t. I really like it but I want it to stand out and at the same time not have it look like everyone elses super sporty looking eclipse. What I mean is I don't want the Blitz kit like everyone and their mother has. I want a body kit for my DSM that is really classy. I was wondering if you guys could give me your opinions and advice on what you think a good choice body kit would be for the classy look I'm going for. All comments, suggestions, and advice welcome. Thanks guys.

i personally like the street fighter front bumper or the skyline fb . if i had the money id probaly get the skyline because it sorta looks like the stock fb for the 97-99s but with a little extra style.

I just checked out the Skyline front bumper. I really liked it, but will it fit on my 96 eclipse because it says it fits 97-99 eclipses? I'm not quite sure. Also any other suggestions are more than welcome. The more options, the better. :D

Drift body kit is nice to, but a nice CF hood will help, and there are many styles now, like kaminari, ram air style, among others...

transforming a car from what the croud has takes more than just a body kit, you can go to a body shop and they'll make your car way different, example: molded custom sideskirts, wide body, a nice tailight conversion maybe, custom made rear spoiler, in this days fiberglass can do anything to your car...! Of course that depends on the amount of cash you want to spend, and if you rather a removable body kit, or permanent...

yeah, it'll fit. But you'll have to update your headlights and possibly reverse lights (i'm not sure what the kit looks like). And that you can do at any junk yard. However, you can keep your 96' head lights and just have a body shop cut part of the kit away to make room for the longer headlights. IMHO, update your lights. the 97-99 look so much better than the 95-96.

but honestly dude, you got a nice FWD turbo. You should start fooling around with that before you get into body kits. Think of it this way, you buy a nice, expensive body kit and get it mounted and all that nice stuff. Then, down the line, you want to get a FMIC. Now you have to take off your nice body kit and risk screwing it up. So, i say work with your engine first, then start to go to work on the body.

OR, you could sell your car and pick up a nice 1G AWD (either talon or eclipse) and have some money left over to work on the engine.

To update the front of my to car to be able to put body kits that fit 97-99 eclipses, will I only need to get the 97-99 headlights and install them? And if thats the case, do I just buy the 97-99 headlights as if I was buying replacements for my 97-99 eclipse if thats what year car I had or is their a kit or something i'll need?. Sorry that might be kind of confusing, but I'm just not sure if it's as easy as buying regular old 97-99 stock headlights and then any kit that is for 97-99 will fit or if it was more involved. Thanks.

If you want a "classy" bodykit, I would say to go with the Veilside or Bomex, these are top of the line kits, but they'll cost you an arm and a leg.

Ah, now that's what im looking for. I love the veilside kit. You said it though, it will cost and arm and a leg. Does anyone know who sells a veilside body kit cheapest? Also, if i were to get that kit, would I only need to replace the headlights and reverse lights or how that would work? Thanks once again guys.

your not going to find that kit for cheap anywhere. The problem with those high end kits is that their way to expensive for practical purposes. I assume this car is going to be a daily driver? If thats the case, its not fun when your cruising around in yoru 2,000 body kit and some old lady misses the red light and smashes into you. Kits like bomex are picked up (usually) by people who are building pure show cars. Its just a lot of money for a daily driver, and if you're like 90% of us on this forum, you don't have over 2,000 to blow on a body kit alone. And for that money, you can get a nice FMIC, a NICE turbo, bigger brakes, etc etc etc. And by looking at your wishlist, i see that your want some performance in tehre too. So really, make sure you think this over alot!

yup, that'd be the bomex kit

yea, i love it. Its waaaaaay too expensive ATM, the good looking air damm costs more than some full kits do.. i figure by the time i wont be called a ricer with that kit (new engine), i will be able to afford it.

I wouldn't call you a ricer with that kit. I would go for it, but i have a spyder, so it'd look too weird. Infact, i'm in the process of buying the veilside kit (gonna be the first/ possibly only one on this forum with one) after i put on my race ready 4G63T head. Having the spyder limits the number of body kits that you could possibly have, namely the veilside, and the kaminari wide body.

but what i never understood with about that bomex is that they have two exhaust ports and they nly used one. I think it'd look much better if it had dual mufflers as opposed to just one adn then a big empty space on the right side.

if i got it.. i would prolly add another muffler.. would look stupid w/o 2.. i guess u can do that?

gotta make sure the tips arent big tho, id get some small straight ones most likely.. regular sized muffler ends look stupid..
