removing oxidation

I need to know of a few ways to remove oxidation. Ive been very hesitant on this because I do not want to ruin my paint forcing me to get a new paintjob (lack of funds.)

If anyone knows of and efficient ways of removing oxidation from black factory paint please let me know.

yeah just save up money and get a new paint job ... tough luck ...


you have a black car, most car susceptible to this problem....

OR you could get some 2000 grit sand paper, sand down your whole car really well. and then compound the hell out of it with a buffer and ###### get a little more time outta the paint. Not gonna lie, its alot of work, but totally worth doing it.

You might get farther than you think with just a good rubbing compound and some serious elbow grease. But, once the clearcoat is too far gone (like mine), might as well plan on a repaint.

3m makes a 3 stage compound/polish/(wax)... Has 3 different applicator pads and three different liquids... it is quite expensive but can save alot of money... also, if the car has never been painted before and your not familiar with a machine buffer i wouldnt suggest you 2000 grit anything... unless you have some slight scratches that the buffer wont get out... just remember, keep your pad and panel wet...DONT DRY BUFF... take your time... dont press too hard while buffing... and it'll look brand new in no time...
