head lights

I have a 1 gen eclipse with the wonderful pop up head lights.On the driver side the head light works fine its goes up and down normaly but the other side it will go up and then go half way down and stay there.When I turn it off it will go down then come half way up and stay.So no mater what its always half way up.Anyone know why this happens?

sounds like your gear for that head light skipped a few teeth - was anyone sitting or leaning on it when the lights were turned on. try turning the gear when the lights are off to close the weepy door, that's imo check the haynes manual or chiltons for more info
