I was bored so I painted some parts, not really sure if I like the heat shield.
Right now I am in the process of pulling my head for a rebuild and I left the tools in my other car so I thought I would paint for now.
I am going to sand down the bolts tonight for the heat
shield and paint them black no point in buying new bolts. i'll get better pics later.

Even the high temp paint will de laminate if the surface was not prepped to perfection. usually the "high heat" paint is not rated to withstand anything over 650 degrees. I dont care what the can says. The real "fire paint" is over $1000 a gallon and is very hard to come by. Only two companies even make the real stuff. Your best bet with exhaust parts is ceramic or jet hot coating. Thats the only thing that will last. FYI if that paint catches on fire I TOLD YOU SO. I have seen it more times then I care to mention.

I Tried painting one with the highest temp I could find and it baked off REAL quick. The worst part is that my car would smell to high heaven after I ran it! It lasted for a while. Good luck!

A few cars I've seen used the VHT and it worked. Only 1 out of about 5 looked a little scetchy so it should work if that's what you used.

I used VHT primer then flat black on my heat shield. It still looks perfect over one year later. Only reason I still don't have it on the car is because I changed my set up and got a JM fabs heat shield.
