Here is some information designed to help those older 1G & 2G DSM owners and current Mitsubishi owners looking for technical answers about their Factory Stock Stereo.
(if you have not swapped it out already or are trying to restore your DSM to factory stock condition)
If you are having trouble with your Mitsubishi Factory Stock Stereo and are out of options of where to turn, this might just help you!
Mitsubishi Car Audio is actually under the corporate name of Mitsubishi Electric USA!
You can call them with the information you are looking for.
Click on the link or copy to your browser bar. This may or may not get you the technical service information you need, but the can refer you to someone who has what you might be looking for.
Here is the information:
Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA, Inc.
5665 Plaza Drive,
Cypress, California 90630-0007, U.S.A.
Phone: +1 (714) 934-5351
Toll Free : 1-800-424-4707
Fax: +1 (714) 229-3898
Talk to Terry Kobo, he is the manager for the Mitsubishi Car Audio Division.
All references goes back only to 1992, and even the 1992-1996 years are hard to come by. I was told that Terry could get more reference information for all years prior to 1992.
Will post updates as this develops. I would like to eventually have on line schematics for these units if available on paperback or microfiche.

One thing to know also:
Mitsubishi still only produces factory car stereo's. One of their major customers - would you believe - is General Motors! Apparently, Mitsubishi has been selling their units to GM for 8 years now according to their press release!
