just looking for advice for a product to help remove swirls and recondition paint. the paint is red if that matters.

then your screwed unless you can chemical blend it baack to somewhat normal. I would personally invest in a light foam buffing wheel and some VERY light buffing compound. The swirl remover is generally not used with paint this old depending on what the clear looks like. Even the light stuff is really abrasive to the clear. . Run the buffer at low speed working from top to bottom of the car. BE VERY CAREFUL TO KEEP THE BUFFER MOVING<------- IMPORTANT DO NOT STOP THAT BUFFER ON THE PAINT. Apply the chemical to the wheel to "season" it do not put the compound directly on the paint EVER, CLEAN the whole car BEFORE you try to buff it. If you get to a bad area you can pull out some wet 2000 or 2500 grit paper and hit it. Then hit it with the buffer. IF the clear is peeling or has bubbles DONT BUFF IT. It will rip the clear and paint right off.
