my thoughts as well...i cant hear my 6x9's very well when the bass boost is up...the 2 10's crush them...

unfortunately the spyder's have a real clearance issue when the top is down. in trying to keep the stock backseat and the trunk the same, it seems that the only way mount a box is with a set of 2-3 8 inch subs with a custom enclosure. you have to trim some of the sheet metal after taking out the back seats, though.

ps the addition of a good amplifier can make all the difference when it comes to 6x9's. when i bought this car about a month ago, couldn't hear any bass or anything from the rear. after all the stereo equipment installed (2 amps, kenwood deck, box, and new 6 1/2's), the 6x9's are actually putting out less like a nun and more like a half-drunk sorority girl. in case you are wondering the kenwood has an internal dinky 4 channel, and the fronts and 6x9s are hooked up to a blaupunkt 2x75 ditigal amp.

dammit i just got this done last weekend and i am now ready for a third eight along with possible 6x9 subs from ma audio!

pss i just thought it might be nice to see that there are other options available to us dtls (drop-top led sled) owners

thats cool. i tried my 6x9's on an amp, and they dont sound as clear. and my head unit only has space for one set of rca's

is there anyway to get it to work for more than one amp? dont it need more than 1 set of rca jacks?

yep - the thing to remember is to get ahold of a quality head unit when you're looking to buy. this does not necessarily mean that it's the most expensive one. probably about 150 for a decent one, mine plays mp3's as well and will run about 200+. just look at the features to see how many channel outputs there are. nowadays you can usually find a unit that has a sub output channel as well as the others. but no, i think that i have either 4 or 2 outputs on the back. but yep, both the blau and the fos are under each of the front seats right now. i just like that you can't see this stereo unless you are really looking for it.

the only thing you can see of mine is the headunit.

and i bought the head-unit for 120...it sells for 180. i got it at sears, it was their best one, i wanted one for 120, and they didnt have it in stock, so they said i could choose ANY of them on display and they would give it to me for the other one's price. it wasnt the most expensive one, but it was the one that matched the interior lighting the best and had the most power output (200W). i have had it for prolly 8 months now, and it has been in 2 other cars, my 91 cavalier rs, my 91 beretta gt, and now the laser. and EVERY time it matched the interior light color perfectly.

They make RCA splitters. The splitter has one male end with two female ends coming off of it. I think that that cuts your watt's for the RCA channel in half, so you might need a lil more gain at the amp. Not sure. You would then be able to run two amps without having to get another head unit.
