Suggestions for light wheels

I am looking to replace the 17inch wheels on my car and wanted to know what brands are known for being light. I would like to upgrade to 18inch as long as they arent real heavy. I like gunmetal and possibly black. I know enkei makes pretty good wheels but they dont advertise the weight usually.

"18" and "light" don't generally belong in the same sentence.

Perhaps you start with your budget? If money is no object, then the Volk TE-37 and Gram Lights are probably the top contenders.

The lightest wheel that I know of is the 17inch Weld Racing Forged Racelite R/S wheel at 11.6 pounds. www.weldracing.com

Also www.veloxperformance.com has a 17 inch wheel 12.5 pounds. The Velox Pro-Gear S Series is H.D.F. Hot Die Forged the strongest type of die forging available. The Wheel is supposed to be strong & durable crafted from lightweight 6061 Aluminum.

www.ozwheels.com has the Superleggera which is 40% lighter than the average aluminum wheel. The lightweight is supposed to be close to that of a magnesium wheel.

I should have added the words cheap or affordable. Probably contradicts going lightweight. I want wheels and tires for around 1k. I have seen some places that say the 18s are only 2 pounds heavier than the 17s. THis would probably work. Thanks for the info guys. I will do my research now.

How bout Rota Subzeros?? They're fairly lightweight, 16.3 lbs for 17's, 18 lbs for 18's. Definitely not as light as some of those wheels but they are also very affordable.
