need feedback/ advice on Sony Xplod.

I'm putting new system in my car and this is what i plan to put in (by the way i'm on budget $400-$450):

AIWA CD deck CDC-X227

Sony Xplod 800w 4/3/2 ch Amp

2 Sony Xplod 10" 700W subs

2 Sony Xplod 6.5" front speakers

2 Sony Xplod 6x9 back speakers

I need any feedback, advice, experience you have/ had with any of these products. Any and all input is appreciated. Thanks. Halik

i had a sony xplod 5 1/4" component set in my last car...well, needless to say, I will never buy another one, overprices, and underperforming. also, both mids were blown withintwo years.

i just bought a set of rockford 5 1/4" 2-way's (80 w) and they sound better than the 150 w component set, and were also cheaper

the best is either boston or infinity kappa if you have the bling to spend on them

I got the SOny Xplode 6x9 for my 1G because they were the only speaker to fit back there. They are OK, but i would've preferred something a little better for the money.

sony sucks dude...look into some nice component speakers with an amp for the front and a different sub/amp combo...rear speakers are a waste. a good sound system sets up a front sage and rear speakers just wreck that. check out sounddomain.com's forums, you'll learn alot and get the best system for your money. jus read read and then read some more. goodluck!

I replaced my blown 2G rear speakers with 200watt sony explod 6by9 ($80).
they sucked, it could handle the infinite system I guess, but that baffled with the bass on half. I replaced them with pioneers 220 watts 3way($100), much betta. I like the clean crisp sound they give.

I got sony up front, and sony tweeters replace the dash
since you are gonna get subs they would provide the bass you need

actually sony car audio all-around is junk. it's all low-end and without the "sony" name on the stuff it's as good as jensen.

i'm gonna have to disagree on that one. not all sony audio is junk. the speakers, as you can tell by the reviews, arent that great. rockford fosgate is my personal favorite. the sony amps are OK, but there are definalely better ones out there that are worth the investment. however, the sony decks are not junk. i've had the aiwa CDC-MP3 deck in my car since they came on the market and it has never failed. if i remember correctly AIWA is owned by sony. my neighbor used to compete in car audio competitions, winning a few and placing high in the rest, and he ran a sony deck and changer, which are still functioning in my sisters car a good 5+ years later. bottom line, IN MY OPINION AND EXPERIENCE (take it or leave it ), sony decks are worth it, sony amps are pretty good, and the speaker reviews speak for themselves.

not saying the sony decks will not necessarily last...just that there sound processing capabilities are no where near up to par with competing brands such as pioneer, kenwood, alpine, etc.. and unfortuantley the aiwa's are even worse. if you like them tho, that's all that really matters...my advice is to go listen to an alpine hu & sony (or aiwa) hu side by side and tell me you can't hear a signifigant difference in sound quality.

i recomend alpine or eclipse. ha, where else areyou gonna find 8V pre-outs? as i said, the decks arnt that bad.. but their amps are entirely overrated. i laugh at the people who spend 300$ and think they are getting a 1000watt "class D" amp. heh
