There is a single click coming from the seats in my spyder when I accelerate or decelerate. It is definitely in the hinge area, and it happens to both seats. I can't confirm if it is happening in each hing of each seat, but it is happening to both seats. It sounds like there a single, loose steel ball bearing rolling around inside the mechism. It's as though this thing is rolling back into a hard stop upon acceleration and rolling back forward into another stop on decel.

Add that noise to all the creaks and clicks and squeaks in my convertible, and I've got all the soundtrack I need.

I fully intend to investigate this mechanically on my own, and report back, but I'm wondering if anyone else has the same occurence.

Sounds like your seat has something loose or broke off in there. Pull it & look like defiant said.
I snapped the seat hinges in half shifting into 2nd a while back with a basically stock motor. LOL Power shift ! I was like wtf??? I used an extra shelf from the bookshelf for support for a quick fix. I had it replaced when i got into a little accident later through insurance.

The weird thing is, it's the exact same sound from both seats at almost the exact same time (slightly offset from eachother). That makes me think it's mechanical rather than pennies or accumulated and solidified skinflakes.

Not as weird as the red Henkels tweezers I found under the seat, under the carpet. Previous owner. Lady. Gross.

The fact that it's mechanical and in two places makes me think someone else has had this sound before, and can tell me what to look for; otherwise stay tuned....

I know this is kind of an old thread But, if you did take out your seats via Defiants help, underneath each seat are latches. They connect on either side, my guess is they arent closing all the way to catch the grooves. I just had this problem where the passenger seat would NOT latch, so everytime i brake or accelerate the seat would move. Just look at them, you will know what i mean. Hope you already have this issue fixed!
