Help me find the light

I need some help with 1G headlights. I need to replace a turn signal so I wanted to make both turn signals white, so I need to know the wattage of white bulbs I should use for the turn signals? I also wanted to get new headlights, I was thinking Sylvania Silverstars, but I need to know if they are like more white or bluish tint to them? Also, I read on an old thread that there is a way to make your headlights come on with them "flipped down", yet still keep the motor on it so it is also possible to hit the button that flips them up to use them like stock headlights. I have a Canadian car, and my lights are always on, do everyone else's lights stay on always too? Thanks for the help, Jake.

Somebody tell me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the bulbs that are used on the turn signals for his car are already clear. I thought that there was an amber lens he had to remove in order to get the "white" look. Silver stars are pure white, no blue tint what-so-ever. As far as the "snake eyes" look for your head lights, I know that they sell those kits on ebay. Also, I don't recall seeing any 1g with their lights on all the time, must be a Canada thing.

Okay, I got most of it figured out. Now I just need to know how to make it so I can make the lights not flip up at all, I don't want to like ghetto cut any wires, in case I ever decide to have them flip up again. I think somebody found a way to turn on the brights when the lights are flipped down. Anybody who knows, let me know, thanks, Jake.

Ok thanks I found it now. One more question, does paint thinner remove VHT Nightshade? I kind of messed up on my headlight assembly and now the light shines through purple and the paint ran down towards the bottom. Thanks for the help. Jake

i thought the turn signals had to be orange to be legal. that is why people put the orange bulb in when they change the lens to clear. My buddy got a couple of tickets for that. at about $80 each

Why would that be illegal? They use to make cars in the 70's that I know for sure have white turn signals. My car has white signals, and no problems with 5.0.

If you use clear corners you need to use an amber bulb*. Go to your local parts store (auto zone, Advanced, etc.) and look up your bulb, then just buy one with an "A" at the end that is how Sylvania numbers their parts, i.e. if your car uses a 1057 turn signal bulb you would need a 1057A for clear corners to be legal.

Yes some cars came with clear corners, and they use the amber bulbs.

*at least thats the law in Pennsylvania.

Well in ohio it is illegal... you have to have orange which is the color of caution. It could be different in your state. and by the way... alot of things were different in the 70's

i live a block away from the police station, and they never give me a problem with mine being completely clear and not "amber". i drew a lot of attention with the turbo'ed beretta GT with no cat and 3" exhaust...they followed me all the time, and never pulled me over for the turn signals...

BTW...I live in OHIO.

there is a law about it... look it up... that doesnt mean they inforce it. But when they want to stop you for anything... they can just say its your ligths.. then they can search your car or whatever. So besides being illegal and really annoying for other drivers i dont see any problems until you get pulled over for it.
So i guess it is your car and your money so you can do anything you want.

and i wasnt talking about the lens.. i was talking about the bulb. if the lens is clear and the bulb is clear it is illegal. if the lens is clear and the bulb is amber its still okay.

i already have a bad record...and they dont pull me over for g*y stuff...they only pull me over when they see my doin 110 past them in a 65. long story. i was late for work, and some guy was CHASING me...not jokingly either. he tried to run me off the road!

That sucks.. happened to a friend of mine.. he had to cut in front of a semi and take the off ramp at about 90. good thing his car sits low.

my old beretta was bound to draw attention from cops...with the BOV from the GReddy turbo kit, the 3" gutted exhaust, the quad-4 DOHC, and the near $1000 stereo....you couldnt help but hear it! still i only got pulled over that one time in it.

hehe.. in canada turn signals can be white/amber in the front or red/amber in the back. Civic riders have their damn altezza's with white turn signals in teh back, as if they are flashing reverse lights and cops never pull them over.. too leanent.
