Aftermarket Fuel Filler Door

The fellow complaining about his fuel door reminded me of this...

About a year ago, I was checking out DSMs in a parking lot after a movie, and saw a 1G with a fuel door sort of like the one available for 3Gs, the one that resembles a racecar's filler door. It was square to fit in the hole left by the stock one, and looke dto have a rubber seal around it.

My question is has anybody seen anything like this, and where would I find such a thing?

ya i have seen them , i know of 2 dif 1g's around here with them

not really sure where they bought them but i will let ya know..........i will ask them next time i see them and PM u with the answer.

i wouldnt buy those Aftermarket Fuel doors if the car has a power fuel door lock its much better.. with those Aftermarket somebody can open your fuel door then put sugar in your gas tank then you would have to buy a new car

You make a grand point, but looking at the link you posted, it seems that the ones jcwhitney sells are adhesive overlays for the existing door. If they don't interfere with the opening mechanism, then you get the best of both.

Unless I'm a nutjob, which is entirely possible these days...

The best thing to do is paste those aftermarket over your old fuel door if has a power fuel door. people are crazy i seen this dude push his finger in a gas tank to open the hole then try to pee in it. if your havin problems with somebody their gonna F with your car so u gotta be careful

Who honestly do you know has had their tank pissed in? Sugar in? Tampon in? I dont know anyone. Besides , just dont be a **** to people and you wouldnt ever worry.

If someone is gunna do something to your car it doesnt matter if you have a fuggin locked gas door.

Yeah, it's sooooo hard to just rip that lil door open. Trust me, if someone wants to get to your gas tank....they will.

when my dad was a kid they would put a chemical in a oping pong ball in to the gas tank.....the ping pong ball would dissolve and the chemical and gas would mix making it EXPLODE...the car would be history..(well most of it)
