Headlights... anyone try these?

I know of two cars that have tried them. Just remember, as a general rule, you get what you pay for on ebay.

ill give you first hand experience with them. i have 2 sets that i've installed for people.

i hate that you get what you pay for crap. that doesnt hold true so much these days.. esp with a lot of ebay parts, these included..

now this is the ALTERNATIVE projector headlights that are available out there for our cars, the other ones are the more standard ones that more people are use to seeing.. these

we are speaking of the 95-96 lights, but these 2 different designs also are available for the 97-99

i've also installed the ones above.

now the biggest difference, other than the design, is the bulbs/harnesses use..

the one the OP posted uses h1/h3 for lowbeam/highbeam and it is NOT plug and play, you will have to wire it up on your own. the clean way would be to sacrifice cutting the harness from the stock headlights and wiring it up so then you will have plug and play.

the ones above I posted, are plug and play. here is how it looks

you will also see it is nearly like stock, even with the leveler. Because it is similar, I believe it uses the stock bulb sizes as well. Just plug and play.

Both sets no matter which you get will need the halos wired up on it's own. best would be to the corner lights, so just with the parking lights on only the halos are on, which serves for that cool look during the dusk

as for build quality, both seem well built, even though the ones above with the open space design (the one OP posted) is not like oem design. the cars ive installed them on are daily drivers and see all sorts of weather. none have fogged up or shown any signs of deterioration.

people have mentioned one or the other halos going out, the ones ive installed still bright to this day, and are wired up to teh side markers and they like to just have them on when its barely getting dark juust to floss ROFL

if you dont want oem and or not willing to pay for oem prices, these serve as great alternatives.

as far as light output, none of the owners have complained, people have said the projectors that use stock bulb sizes have better light output than the ones that use h1/h3. ive driven at night with both and i havnt had a problem seeing the roads.

i have those headlights. the original ones in the post. good looking for sure. halo not very bright. not the ones i got anyway. regular lights and brights are good. but halo's suffered on mine.

The one OP posted I have on my car currently, came with it when I purchased the car. Pro

Nice cut off Line that projectors give you

Cons

Not bright, Can't hook up H.ID, Idiot wired them really messy(nothing to do with headlight but just want to b**c* about it) and. they are hard to adjust for proper projection

Hope that helps, BTW I have 2gb Eclipse Headlights that I purchased to replace them, this might be a hint for you... ;)

I have the exact same headlights. They fit good and look good but the halo's are only visible at night when your headlights are on anyway. Other than that I've had no problems.

mine have been painted, heres a pic... I don't like the look on my flat black car..

Yes it is painted. It looks like tinted tails do, you can't see through it when the lights aren't on, but once you turn the lights on, the light shines through as it would. I just don't like the look with my car, its flat black as you can see and I would rather explore another option.

Given the choice I'd much rather have the stock 2gb style. The reason I got these is because my car was wrecked and the insurance company screwed me so I didn't have much money to work with.
