Hi guys. I just purchased a used 1997 GS-T, and I noticed that when I arm/disarm the factory alarm system, NONE of the exterior lights flash like they do on my Honda (the parking lights seem to flash in just about every car with a factory alarm system). Are they supposed to? Is something broken? The only light that flashes is the interior dome light. :(

Thanks a ton guys,

Mike

is there a way to wire it so they flash on arm/disarm?

Asked and answered before in other threads but not solved that I have seen.

It is not easily done unless you are handy with electronics. Most people attempt to link the flash of the dome light into the marker light circuit but they end up seeing the marker lights turn on and off whenever they open and close the door. Oops!

It's not as simple as isolating those two circuits with blocking diodes either. If I wanted to do that feature I would program a micro-controller but I alway ran aftermarket alarms to get the additional features you don't get with OEM.

The best option for an electrical rookie (to get a similar marker light flash) is to use the green security light in the gauge cluster as a signal to trigger the marker light relay under the hood. That is not the same type of blink pattern as most alarms but at least it would be closer to what you want.
