hey guys,
i bought a VIS Blitz kit for my 99. i was wondering if ne of you had an imperfect fit with the back bumper. the dront and side skirts mounted with little modification, but the back seams to be to stubborn; as in too tight. has ne1 had bodykit problems before?
i dont knot know, its probably my luck just big $ down the drain thats all.:barf:
besides the body kit, can ne1 give me an estimated price for molding my side skirts to my fenders:confused:

Thats why when you first get the kit----in the paperwork that comes with the kit theres a paper that says---that for proper fitment you should inquire the help of a autobody person.......so far Ive bought 2 bodykits, and they came with similar paperwork that said the same thing......"IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO LOOK LIKE IT HAS A PROFESSIONAL JOB----PAY A PROFESSIONAL".......If you want your ride to have a GHETTO JOB......well---- theyre sure that somewhere you could find a crackhead that would do the job for next2nothing and have your car looking like SH*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!Like the saying says----YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR......................

I had the same problem with a fiberglass blitz rear end. I can to cut the bottoms to allow for over lapping then install the bumper until I got the right fit. After that, I went over the edges with fiberglass to mold it correctly and then it looks fine. I suggest having a bodyshop install the rear for you if you want perfect kit and curve. Bumpers are made from a mold that never seems to fit correctly in the back. A bodyshop will cut bend and reglass the kit to fit perfect. And as far as molding on the sides, price around at a few shops or try to find a friend that knows what hes or she is doing. I have a sponsorship from a shop, and that comes in handy with a shaved car. Hope that helps, lates:dsm:

hey, i just got a blitz put on my car today. front bumper went on with no problems, didnt put on the side skirts because i want them molded, and thats gonna be another 100 bucks a skirt :( , anyways, i had the same problem with my rear bumper. lucky for me, i have a bodyshop put it on and have them deal with that problem.

thanks guys. well at least now all of us are aware that (besides the back bumper) the side skirts and front after market parts fit alright. im glad that i wasnt te only person that had a crappy fit. now i dont have to buy another bumper!it.:thumb:
and its true. inorder to get a professional job i should get it done by a professional. but when your short on cash ( i drive an rs for fuk sakes) sometimes you need to improvise and be the professional for a day. ne ways i will get the back done professionally and have some pics up sooner than later so you guys can be the judges of my installment.
if you guys have a question about putting on some sides skirts and bumpers yourself, dont be afraid to ask.
thanks
by the way innercircle, tell us about your sponsorship and how you got it.

if you buy a urehtane bltiz rear bumper wouldnt that fit better that a fiberglass since urethane bends and flexes easier

There is a local shop on my town run by a father and son that used to just restore old cars. I met the son one time at a car show and he talked a lot about stuff that could be done and how. Well with the sudden boom of the import revloution I convised him and his father that expanding the shop to imports as well older cars would help to produce a lot more money. Now being the Vice-President of a car club I know a lot of people in my area and hook them up with all the business they could handle from shaving everything, to making flip trunks, doing custom Z3 gills, hoods, repaint interior, exterior and just about anything you could ever think off. I also gave them the tag "Customize This". I get all my work done for cost and have become best friends with both the father and the son. Hope that explaines enough for you knevil. A lot of places are all about helping people out, but people never think to ask.

thanks for the info innercircle! my father actually has a buddy that owns a body shop. maybe i can convince him to do the same for me. it can increase there business and also allow me to do more things to my car.

You'd be surprised how many import drivers are looking for a reliable place to go for bodywork. I'm gettin my handles shave, rear window shaved, trunk and hood shaved, entire body-kit shaved, custom ram-air hood, integra taillight conversion, roof scope, lambo doors, interior dyed, custom fiberglass enclousre for subs, exterior painted, and tons more all for the cost of material. probably anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000. No labor charge whats soever. All that would normally come out to a little under $10,000, espiecially with the custom paint job. As well as free first hand experience on how to do body work because I do everything with them. I'm stoked and finally lucked out and caught a break. Good luck to you as well.....

damn thats some hardcore work for a cheap price! i actually tried to get sponsored by a local audio/video today and they totally rejected me! well, not really... i told him he should sponsor my fat dsm and he asked me what will i buy off him. i was thinking to myself "man you got a neon sponsoring you and your asking me what i will buy???? you should be giving me #### for free." i told him that i purchased my audiobahn speakers and my fosgate amp and subs, but i guess that was not good enough; and from there he just blew me off without words and told me to have a nice day:( :::dick:::

not to sound like a dick but i would have done the same thing these guys have to know that you are serious about gettin your #### hot, might not have to pay retail prices for stuff but that's usually how sponsoring works you get things from that particular place at cheap cheap money and sometimes they throw a lil extra in, cant' just walk in with a stock car, hand em the keys expect it to be fully done up when you come back and then not have to pay for it. if that was the case don't you think everyone would be doin that?????

You have to express how obessed you are with your car and not only tell them what they can do for you, but the benifits they would recieve by sponsoring your car such as advertisement and car shows and audio shows. Also can't be stock, they have to see that you've invested your time and money into it before they want to invest their time and money. A lot of sponsorships are discounts or free labor. Got to be happy with anything they offer you and build from there.
