I have a 92 1gb with a 1ga front end and want to put 1gb headlights, fenders, and hood back on. But want to leave the 1ga bumperon , will this work ? Would be great if sombody had some pics of this combo. Thanks.

i guess you could do it but there would be a big goofy looking gap between the headlights. i'm not even sure if the bottom of the 1gb headlights would interfere with the 1ga bumper.

I'm going to the junkyard with a tape and see if I think it will work.

Liberty is twice as much, they suck. Went to glissons and went ahead and got the parts. Hope it works.

We'll have to get together sometime and I'll give you a ride in your old car. You might be suprised.

Everything bolted up. It's not perfect but I like it better than what I had.

Well I couldn't find a 1gb nose but wanted to get rid of the pop ups . What do you think looks bad about it ? I know it's 4 differant colors but i hope to take care off that in the next couple of weeks.

I don't think it looks bad at all. Perhaps you could fab something to put in between the lights to take up that space, that is the only thing that looks out of place. It looks much better than I expected. What are your plans for painting it?

Thanks, going to paint it white. I'm painting it myself and single stage white is the most forgiving. I like the way the 1g's look white with black roof and wheels. For the opening in the grill I would like to use some wire mesh bent to fit and painted black. The radiator could use some more air flox anyway because the fmic is blocking most of the bottom of it.

It just kind of looks like you rear ended someone or something and bent the nose down. The lines don't match, and that sticks out on any car.

I think it will look good. lessen the gap where the fender meets the bumper before you paint it and take care of the center and it will look just fine...and maybe adjust the hood up a bit , it looks low in the pic. I like the parts are parts method, make it work!

Well I not sure because my car came without pop ups somebody else put them on and I just put it back the way it was. But if you search you will find several threads on this forum about the 1ga to 1gb swap.

ROFLso i did the swap. i put a 1994 talon 1gb composite light front end on my 1991 Laser rs. it is the best looking dsm i have seen. pictures are on their way. Just to let everyone know it wasnt all bolt on. there was a few brackets and things i had to make . but all in all it wasnt too bad. i estimate ite took a total of 10- 12 hrs to remove the talon front clip, remove the laser font clip, and replace it with the talon clip. and i had to rewire one or two things to make all the lights work correctly. also fuel pump is out??? how can i test it? is therer a fuse for it? also how bad is a clutch job?
