Anyway, to the OP. Those look great and it seems like an easy install. They look bright enough, but not too bright (to hurt other drivers)

Currently I have those ultra-white halogen bulbs and they are fine around here, but I may consider a 6000K kit in the future.

Keep in mind I don't know a thing about electronics). I'm sure it could be made to work, so in the end its just up to you. Do you want to buy H1 bulbs or 9006 from now on?

That doesn't even come close to answering the question. The bulbs have nothing to do with what we're talking about here (on this particular question, that is). The question is in regards to the wiring harness... you know, the thingy that plugs into the other thingy, so that you headlights know when to come on, switch to high beams, or flash that idiot in the oncoming lane because he forgot to turn his headlights on after he pulled out of the bowling alley. (Sorry... it's been a while since I've been on here)

Maybe a better way to phrase this question is to ask if there's any way to hard wire these plug n' play kits or do you HAVE to have an OEM wiring harness (AKA "thingy")??


PS - For the record, the reason you have to run an H1 bulb in the ebay housing's that CrimsonGST and I are referring to, is because they're projector headlamps... which don't accept 9006 bulbs.

I think you guys are blowing this way out of proportion. It's very simple indeed, but I'll try my best to answer the question at hand. You and the other guy both have H1 bulbs which typically come in the Ebay projectors. The projectors already have their own harness installed in each headlight housing just like the stock headlight housings (the projectors I purchased last week had it's own harness inside the housing). When you replaced your stock headlights, after unbolting the headlights the only thing left to do was to unplug that plug right underneath the headlight right? And inturn, when installing the projectors you simply installed it and plugged that plug back into the socket that's right below the projector headlights, much like the stock ones.

Now for I real answer I guess.... Your projector housings accept the H1's for low beams and like the HID kit that I purchased you would just choose a H1 bulb when you order the kit. Installing it will be a breeze. You simply remove your H1 bulb from each housing one at a time. Once your bulbs are removed then disconnect the plug from the back of each bulb. The HID kit comes with a socket at the end so you connect the plug REMOVED from the back of the bulb to that socket. Then after that all you have to do is drill about a 1" hole through the bulb covers so that it can accept the rubber grommet. The next step is putting the bulb through the hole in the cover, installing it into position in your projector housings, putting the rubber grommet in position so that the cover is doesn't have a way for condensation to get in it and then screwing back the cover on.

Notice that there aren't anymore wires but simply what runs from the headlight to the ballast.

That was exactly what I was referring to. The fact that the Ebay projectors bulbs are H1's and I figured only H1 bulbs would fit into the projector.

Boostedinsofla, I understand exactly what your saying, all I was asking was since my projectors accept the H1 bulbs (because of the metal plate on the end of them) should I just get H1 HID's. The bulb covers on MY lights are just rubber gromets themselves so I wont even have to worry about that.

Thanks for taking the time to answer this question, but if my ebay projectors had the plug that plugs into the OEM housing, I wouldn't even be asking this question. I know that most styles of ebay projectors come with the plug.... but mine didn't. There's 2 wires that come from each lamp (hi and low beam). For whatever reason, (most likely because I was an idiot 4 years ago when I first installed these headlights) I cut the OEM plug and now have my headlights hardwired, instead of using my brain and just wiring my old OEM plug from the stock headlamps onto the new projectors (damn I was stupid back then).

From the overall response, it sounds like my best bet would be to just find the wire harness plugs and "fix" my dumbass install that I did 4 years ago. That way, when I convert to HID, it'll be a simple plug n' play. I was hoping though, that there was a way that one could hardwire the HID's in, if they had too.

You can hardwire them in since you cut the plug underneath headlight. I actually had to do this a few years ago when I first installed Ebay projectors and HID's on my 420A. Obviously instead of using the socket that comes in the HID (the actual plug and play part) you'll most likely have to cut that off and wire it to the harness coming from the car going to underneath the headlight.
