I'll bet you could get a "real" roll bar custom made for as much, if not less, than the one in your post. Just a thought.

That's where the "custom" part comes in.

This is simple: You want a functional roll bar that looks good.
1. Have chassis shop weld in 6-point bar.
2. Encase main hoop of functional bar with the above.
3. Enjoy.

The other thing I like about it is the brake light on it. Im planning to hook it up to a switch so it only works when the top is down.

Re: i found a rollbar!
Is there any way you can tell me where you found that rollbar and how much it cost???? I have a spyder and that is the same rollbar I have spent days searching for. Please reply to me at nich@sungrp.com if you can.
Thanks so much,
Nich

i'm welding a 6-point rollbar and encasing it like that. i'm having a REAL rollbar installed so i can drag it, and having that surround it... looks much nicer than a nasty POS bar crossing the car

This sounds like a heckuva good idea and I'd love to put such a thing on my Spyder. Did this project work out? If so, I'd love to get some details.
Thanks!
