Ok, so I did some searching and while I THINK I know the answer, I'm just wondering what people's current experiences are.

I want to replace the factory Infinity headunit with an aftermarket one. It seems like Crutchfield says that the Alpine I am looking at (though this isn't Alpine specific question) is 7'' x 2'' x 6-1/4'' doesn't fit, but that the one Alpine HU that I am not crazy about is 7'' x 2'' x 6-1/8'' and they say it fits? Both are single DIN.

I'm not really sure what to believe because I find it hard to believe that 1/8" is keeping me from installing it, but maybe it will.

Any help?

as long as its a single din head unit then it will fit. single din is single din, period. i dont konw about the 1/8' thing, but it wont matter. i worked as an installer at a car audio shop where i live for 4 years and i never had a single din radio that would work where another single din wouldn't. a lot of it really depends on how you end up installing it anyways. whether you use a dash kit or use the factory brackets. i used a Metra dash kit in my 2g and i've got an Alpine. just buy a good dash kit and you'll have to shave the din slot out with a flat blade file. hope that helps.
