Hey Guys, about to purchase a 1g but I have a question about the interior, The dashboard above the glovebox on the passenger side is all ripped up and peeling, if I was going to change that do I need an entire new dash or is is a seperate piece from the dash itself?

You mean curling up from the bottom right corner? Yeah, most of them do that over time. Replacing it entails removing the entire dash (not a fun project), but some folks have been successful at gluing the curled up portion back down. Others have removed the part that curls up and re-covered that section of the dash with other material (I saw one done with some heavy foam & a leather covering). It's not necessarily something to turn a car down for, but it is a PITA to fix if you can't live with it.

haha yeah it seems like it's a pain in the ass, but yeah it is curling up in the corner, I will try glue it down I guess, ### im the type of person that hates when shit isnt' the way it should be, LOL...thanks for the reply

What do you do with the car? Do you got out and hang like people looking at your ccar and stuff. I did most of my interior, but not the dash. Now if you have the patience i would tear it out, rip off the vinyl or whatever go get some kind of either fabric or new vinyl and just re-do the dash. it would look sweet. Everybody would love it. It probly wouldnt be that hard, now fiberglassing the dash would be another story.LOL

I've also wondered about cutting that section out and fiberglassing it instead. Mines sort of wavey, hasn't peeled back too much though, so I'm not bothering with it yet..

Thanks for the replies guys, appreciate it, but I think I might just try and glue it back down because it is not peeling back that much yet...

i drilled a hole and put a small zip-tie to hold it down, one that kinda matches the color, it doesnt look to bad, deff looks better then the corner being flipped up
