Overhead interior lights...replacements too big?

I was changing out the floor and interior lights with aftermarket blue ones. The floor lights fit fine, but the overhead lights......the ones that are round and have tapered ends are too big. The ones I need for my overhead look to be about 1/4 in smaller than the ones they sell.
Does anyone know where I can get the "smaller" ones for my overhead in blue? I tried pep-boys and they had the large ones.

Hey, when I first got my car, I did the same thing. First I replaced the floor lights to the blue bulbs, then I wanted my map light blue. I purchased a set that were too big (probably the same you have). After many weeks, and giving up, I did a simple job of cutting out a clear blue sheet of plastic and replacing it in between my lights and the plastic cover. Doesn't look bad. And in the day time, the whole clear park looks blue. not too shabby IMO.

HOWEVER, later after stopping by many car shops, I found a couple that DO sell blue bulbs that fit. So my answer would be to keep looking around.

you gan get them at MachV i do believe. I know they used to sell them. So they should now.

autozone has little "bulb covers" in the rice section go look there. thats what i used.

ou could do the hard route like i did and use leds

How the hell do you take off the dome light cover, i tried and i was affraid that i would break it

i usally got like a little pic or even a knife to get under it, and it pops right off
