How can I make a switch witch grounds when the car is in neutral?

Okay, I'm setting up my alarm w/ remote start so that the remote start feature won't function unless the car is in neutral.

So I need a wire that grounds only when the car is in neutral, how can I ground it to shifter when it's in neutral without affecting performance when shifting, yet being reliable?

:( I'm scared I'm gonna remotely crash my car into somebody elses.

It's just that I heard about someone doing making a neutral ground before.

I know I'm going to make it a habbit of remote starting my car and the very few times I put it into gear (because of hill's or whatnot) I don't want to accidently ^ ^ ^.

You should be able to set up a microswitch on the shifter assembly such that the switch is actuated when the shifter's fore/aft throw is straight up/down. Since most microswitches have both NO and NC contacts, you can wire it to be either open or closed in neutral.

What I'm visualising would be a bracket off the end of the bolt that runs left-right, holding the switch below the bolt. You'd want a switch with a long-ish actuator arm, and then you'd bend the actuator arm into a sort of ___.--.___ shape so that the shifter pressed it and switched when in neutral.

I hope this is making some sort of sense. 8)
