i plan on getting some 17" work vsxx's which have a 42mm offset . not sure how wide i should get, and what tire size. want to go as wide as i can. thanks

He will kick himself every day that he owns those skinny 17x7 wheels. 17x8 is a much better choice with like a +42 offset. I wonder if you could even do 17x8.5. Wret?

Work VS-TX, but you get the idea.

with a +42 offset, you should be able to get away with a 8.5 wheel. if you want to go wider like a 9" wheel, id get an offset somewhere in the mid 30's at least. we were able to run a 17x9+40 front and 17x9+37 rear with 255 wide tires on a 1g, by grinding down the rear trailing arm and running about -2.5-3 degrees of camber in the rear. as for tire sizes, id go with a 245 or 255 wide tire
