Ok guys so I'm sure a few people know this one. I'm a new member so excuse me. So I was doing some interior lighting the other day. I noticed that on standard cars, obviously you have to press the clutch to start it, but I noticed behind it, it's just a little button and it makes a connection between a positive and neg wire. So I ripped it out of there and wired the two wires to a switch mounted on the black piece under my head unit. So if you turn the key no clutch, no response, push the clutch turn the key, no response, flip the switch turn the key you get your car started.

2 problems I ran into. For some reason my switch I bought was labeled wrong so off was on and on was off, so I just flipped it upside down, but there is a little notch on the switch that you have to shave off before doing this.

Second.... For the love of god don't start the car with it in gear haha.

Good luck have any questions just ask.

Hi and welcome.

Yes, people have done that sort of thing before. I believe it is even under the free mods section. I didn't do it, nor do I want to. I dispute its value in saving the throwout bearing.

With your mod, you won't be allowed to go to the drag strip either. At least if you just unplugged it you can plug it back in if you ever go, but in your case you'll never pass tech inspection.

Plus if you ever get DSMLink (not a problem with a NT I guess) you'll never be able to use any of the stutterbox/antilag/NLTS options. Mine's unplugged, just to save the TOB on start.

The race tracks here dont care about clutch start switches... For a normal car like some of ours, we just have to have a battery tie down... If you relocate the battery to the rear, you have to install a toggle switch for the battery to shut things down incase of emergency.
