I am getting an evo style CF VIS hood soon for my 2g.. I was wondering if anyone has a nice looking paint scheme for it. For me, its basically to protect the hood from potential cracking/weather damage. There is another 2g rolling around here that has a hood that has alot of cracking and shit.. and I dont want this to happen to my hood so I think painting it will work as some form of protection. So any good pics would be ideal.

If it CF then leave it be. Cars with unpainted CF hoods look sick. You could alway double up on the clear coat to keep the nice CF look.

My suggestion - leave it as CF until it fades and cracks, when it does paint match it to your car.

What color is your car?

Silver.. and thanks. I actually dont WANT to paint it. Maybe I'll look into the double clearing idea. Thanks guys

Thats really creative. I think thats too much for a daily driver, but really still a really awesome idea. As for what you should do, if you really want to paint it, which I would recommend not, do something simple. I remember a guy painted his with like 2 triangles from the upper corners down to the inside part of the headlights and it wasnt too bad looking. Ill try and find the pic.

Just leave it and make sure you have a nice coat of wax on it like WatchItExplode said. Cf and silver is a nice combo. Esp with your black housing 2gb headlights. I've had my OEM VIS hood for about 3 years now and its still as shiny as the first day I got it. With exception of that layer of dust on it from not driving it.

I'v had a vis CF hood for 4 years now and it deffinetly need redone. It only has a couple of cracks(not bad) but it is very fadded/foggy from the michigan weather. I would like to find someone that works with CF in my area to see if the hood can be wet sanded and recleard or if I have to paint it.
