Ok I've finally gotten the time to make a mount for my laptop. So my idea was to remove the passenger side airbag and mount it there. My quest is can I just pry up that square piece, or can it only be done by taking the whole dash off?

Drop the glove box down, then remove the bolts for the box hinge. This will give you room to get your head up under the dash. There are 4 bolts(if I remember correctly) that hold the airbag in place. Simply remove them, unplug the connectors and pop the airbag out. Oh and remember to disconnect the battery.

you remember right -- 2 phillips screws and 2 10mm bolts (4 total) hold the bag in place -- just so ya know -- there really isnt THAT much room behind the airbag- unless you wanted to do somthing like this....
