Winnipeg,
I am ready to install my stereo, but i don't really know the best place to route the power cable for the amp. I don't want tomash the car up, so i figured you guys might know the best place for the hole through the firewall.
Thanks alot
Matt

i am really just wondering what you guys have done,..such as where you put the cables..

Hmmm... I forget where I ran the amp cable. I beleive I ran it through a pre-existing grommet on the passenger side. I know I ran the boost guage line through the steering column. But look for a hole on the passenger side

Wherever you run it through, remember to run the power wires and rca's down opposite sides of the car to avoid interference.

i ran mine through a hole that is about an inch wide that was there when i got the car. it has a plastic rubber piece around it and nothing was using it. so i ran my amp wire and boost gauge hose through it.

In my Supra and my sisters Talon I an the wire right dowthe center of the car. It went under the center counsell (sp?) or tuck just inside the carpet.

I ran mine down the driver side along the back under the carpet.. It went through a hole in the firewall that was already there.. Don't listen to these other guys about rca interference.. I have always ran mine together with no problems. If you have have-decent rca's you wont have a problem.

Get your facts straight. You can go to ANY professional car audio shop and ask about the power wire interference and they'll tell you the same thing. Maybe you got lucky, it's not a 100% thing...but there's a VERY good chance of it. Better to be safe than sorry. But yeah, don't listen to me....I've only been into car audio since I was 15 and installed full custom systems since I was 16....I don't know much about the subject though.

Should be a firewall by the gas pedal big enough for the wire to fit through. I ran it there and it took less than 10 seconds to pull through.

Actually if you use shielded cable there isn't a problem running them together. Luck has nothing to do with it.

I did have mine ran through a hole in the fender, then inside the door sill, but I took it all out and I'm puttin a whole new system in it, I'm shooting for 3000 total watts power! Not bad for a small town car, it already rattles windows, I can't even think what it will do after that! But, you can run the cables just about anywhere, just dont put them anywhere where they will be exposed to water, dirt or anything like that cuz it will eat away the coating after a while. Just my opinion!! Good Luck!
