Custom subwoofer setup

My friend's GS-T came with a sub box similar to that. except it houses 2 10" subs. Very nice and clean, and still maintains most of the trunk room. Easily removable as well, yet secure when in place. Only negative is no rear strut bar possible if your looking into getting one. It sounds nice and hits hard wired el ghetto tapped to rear speakers. It's not a very common setup I've seen.

That guy's car in youtube is nice too. He has that cheap deck wiht the built in screen. A lot of lesser known companies make a deck like that. They all use the same OS which leads me to believe they all come out of the same China factory and rebadged depending on the brand who purchased it in bulk. But they pack a ton load of features. SD card slot, USB input, tv tuner, etc, and you could get one for <$200. I was thinking of buying one, but the interface SUCKED, but I believe newer models have much nicer, clear, clean, easier to use versions.

that setup was kind of retarted..he had the port facing up and still used the deck cover.. that port needs to breath to produce bass i bet that thing rattles like no tomorrow. other then that that really is a space saver. another design with that same space would be amazing.and ports firing towards the back with nothing blocking.

oh yea, i didnt see it was ported, my friends is sealed. Oh there was not much rattling too. He maintains his rear hatch/trunk cover. I believe he is interested in selling some to those who want it, Ill try to get pics and price.

he should also get that alpine 7" touch screen that i seen on ebay for about 800.

I have been in car audio cometititvly for many years. The box in that DSM was custom made, by a car audio shop. It's a pretty simple box design and any even mediocre shop should be able to pull it off.

did you notice the brake rotors. those looked like 3kgt rotors. anyone know. cause I read on dsmtuners 3kgt rotors wont fit cause of clearance issues,

yea thats nice as well, but the nice thing about the ones like in the video posted is to maintain the trunk space. all depends on what a person is looking for.

Agree the box is a one off, and that it would be pretty easy to duplicate. Spend some time mocking it with cardboard and the build takes only a few hours.

I built a box like the ones posted above. Only difference is that you can use your trunk without having to worry about something damaging your speakers. Sounds good too.

Picture is bad, plexiglass wasn't installed yet, but you get the point.

I built a box like the ones posted above. Only difference is that you can use your trunk without having to worry about something damaging your speakers. Sounds good too.

I have a pic in my gallery of the fiberglass enclosure I made up. I ditched one of my 12's & just went with the single as it still produces more then enough bass & I was more concerd with performance then rattle every fastener in the car lose base. I wanted something that was nice & light, kept most of the trunk (not that I ever put anything in there) & was easily removable. It was my first attempt at a fiberglass enclosure & I think it came out pretty good. Did all the work at home in the garage.

great setup for a first timer at fiberglass im looking for something like that but i have two 12" alpines type r. (i want people to hear me from the other block when they are on another block.) Down here in the south we called that king kong in the trunk. also in your setup you can use your rear bar. Upgrade without losing performance

When I made this box, I made templates. If you interested let me know. I can take some better pictures sometime this week. The box is bandpass, so it will get loud and be distortion free. Oh and no rattles, box fits snug, and you can still use your rear strut tower brace as well as hide you amps, wires, and cd changer.
