mine did the same, you have to be soooooooooooooooooooooooooo fragile with the gauge, you prrobobly knocked theneedle loose off of its sensor, thats what i did, just try to reseat the needle so it has some spring in it

OSrry to bring up an old thread BUT THAST WHAT THE SEARCH BUTTON DOES FOR YOU.

I am having the same problem. How do you reset your needle so it has some spring in it? Also, my fuel gauge is not working, but there is no spring in a fuel needle b.c. it never rests, it stays where it stays whether the car is on of off.

When you reinstall the needle over the overlay, you need to gently set it on and make sure there is "spring" to it. If you for example, press the needle down too hard, the needle will not work. Try that and let us know how it goes.

If you type like that, it won't work at all. Which is part of why we bi*** about spelling so much here.

Use "glow" in your search, and try "guage" and "guages" as well. We can't get them all.

I stated that for two reasons:

I just got done reading another thread where a forum member was pissed off and in shock that his EBAY manifold fell apart. If he would have hit the search button would have saved him some $$ and some heartbreak.

In m old car forums, we got flamed for bumping threads that were to old.

Either way sorry if it came off in a bad way.

This is what I have done so far with the Gauges that work such as RPM and Speed. The car hasn't been on long enough to see if the temp works.

I installed the gauges, next was the needles. What I did was trun the car on (but not starting it) so the pins go to their approiate levels. From there I installed the needles. All of them have spring to them except the fuel gauge it is stiff. Stock boost isn't working either (doesn't matter but I am a nit picker, I just spent $80 for these things would like all of them to work.

I think I tried ressting the springs, where you jsyut pull off the needle and reattach it.

The boost gauge moves but it won;t go all the way, seem to go and then just stop.

Speaking of spelling, Defiant is right, try "guage" or "guages" in your search and you'll get results as a testament to the horrifying lack of proper spelling on this site. If you don't find what you're looking for, switch it to the correct spelling "gauge" or "gauges" and you'll find a whole lot more results. Best of luck.

I have found nothing...
I am going to take the car home and hope the gauges set themselves. But I highly doubt that will happen.

Help me! I will but I don't want to spend $60 on a Fuel Level Gauge.

Agreed. Firefox 2.0 has a built in spell checker. It underlines in red spelling mistakes as you type. So with these new browsers these days, there is no excuse for bad spelling. :nono:

this guy is getting no help, i would help him but i dont have aftermarket overlay in my vehicle, hence i have no experience. someone needs to give him an answer to his question instead of talking about spelling (this thread was the closest result to his search)
help a brother out
