Tsi -> Gsx!

How hard would it be to convert a 2nd Gen Eagle Talon TSI AWD into a 2nd Gen Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX? And what things from the Eclipse would I need? There are TONS of Mitsubishi Eclipse GS's and I have noticed there is no difference from the GS to the GSX in Cosmetics. Why I ask is because I can easily score a TSI AWD for very cheap. The GSX's around here are Rare.

So, I could just buy a body kit, go to a junk yard and get the front and rear tail lights.....what about Badges? I would want to completely convert it to a Eclipse, if I get it I'll use it for my Rally car

sideskirts and the spoiler...u can get the badges from the dealership. cost about 5 bucks

you will need a new steering wheel airbag cover, some sideskirts, and their also maybe so other eagle badges you need to replace

You'll need:
headlights
front bumper
foglight covers
fog lights & brackets
intercooler duct
side skirts and door caps
spoiler
taillights
harnesses
reverse lights
rear bumper
Using aftermarket and used parts I think you can get it all done for under $1500 (not including paint) if you can do all the labor yourself.

the first car i ever saw that looked sweet was a 95/96 green talon, the sparkly neonish color
i persoanlly thought it was badass and have wanted one ever since, but hey that is me, plus how many eclipses do you see out and how many talons?

i want a 99gsx btu if i cant find one for the right price then i am just going to find an older one and make it exactly like i want it, new engine etc...

hey someone on here told me that you amke the car the way YOU want it
that is why we have such an extreme difference in what is rice etc.. sleeper etc...

Why would you want to buy a Mitsu. GSX and turn it into a Talon? Talon's are cheaper, just buy a Talon. The KBB Value between the Talon and Mitsubishi are about $2,000 different.

dear god my spelling is atrocious, um i actually want a talon but i will most likely get a talon, my reason for wanting a talon is the rear wing, but no i would not actually do the conversion jsut wonderign what you would need,
i could have asked soemthing completely intelligent liek what are the differences between the engines in the talon and eclipse but alas i have read jsut about every one of the 1000 ? and the faq's and etc..
but truthfuly i dont know jack #### about engines or maintenance and frankly that is what worries me about getting one of theses cars

Agreed. Nothing at all wrong with a talon. You would be spending a good amount of money just for people to say "Look at that Eclipse" instead of "Look at that talon" I would say use the money to do engine work. When you beat them they won't care if it's an eclipse or talon

The going average for most years for the identical cars from the Eclipse to the talon or laser is $1500 to $2000. It's the same car just different name, I never understood why people would do the switch, they don't look that diff. It kills the resale and trade-in value as well, the title still says Talon. But hey, it's your $, if you want to do it, don't let anyone talk you out of it.

Good call... Some many people get defensive over the exact anme of the car. They are the same thing. Don't do the change just because you want somebody to think of it as a different name. I think talons (97-97) look better but my best friend thinks eclipse ass ends look better. Like the above comment. use your money on performance. Don't worry if they think it is a Talon or an Eclipse. You beat them with a DSM.....

hey, i got a LASER, and i dont complain about wantin to change it over to a talon or eclipse...i bought it cuz i got a good deal on it, if i would have wanted to spend more money, i would be driving a 91 GSX, but i chose the 90 laser cuz it is cheapER speed. if you look up a part for the plymouth laser turbo, then compare it to the mitsubishi eclipse gst or gsx, they are considerably different, simply because demand isnt so high for the talon and laser. if you go to the dealership wanting a part for the car, go to the chrysler dealership, cuz its cheaper than mitsu...SLIGHTLY off topic, but you get the point
