Yeah I noticed that too. It might just be my imagination, but that hose has been sitting on a shelf for 4 or 5 months now and seems to have lost some of it's color. Not to mention when it's up against that darker red it looks orange. I guess thats what I get for buying the autozone hose kit. :p

I thought silicone vacuum tubing was better for turbo applications and resisted heat better? I still run with rubber vacuum tubing by the way, I have yet to put on the silicone lines.

Those hoses aren't silicone. They are absolute junk. Toss em. I put them on my car and the ones to and from the boost controller popped just from being near the heat shield. The piece that touched the shield turned to liquid. The rest visibly stretch when warm.

If you really like the color run the thick ones over the thin rubber lines to keep the look.

*edit* The BOV looks good though. I'm inspired to paint mine something other than the flat black I've got on everything right now.

Ok, thanks for the info on the hoses. :) I'll be sure to pawn them off on somebody else before they ever go on my car.

I almost want to do it again and get more of an anodized look out of it rather than that deep red. Isn't the metalcast supposed to be translucent so that the metalic under-layer shines through?

That's why yours looks similar, LOL. We used the same paint.
I thought it was supposed to show the metal too, but it's a good thing really. I had sanded off the original green paint and I didn't polish it afterwards, so it would have looked very blah.
I think I got more of the anodized look with thin layers and also, less layers.

I put down a layer of the silver metal flake paint first. The reason I ended up doing it was I couldn't get an even coat on it from the bottom up, including the sides. I think it just will require more planning on my part next time, but it was only practice for my valve cover. :D

It was the Red Dupi-color Anodized metalcast on top. I'll do a write up, but it wont be for a couple days because i'm fairly busy at the moment. :)
