Red talon wih red kevlar /carbon fiber hood

I was curious if anyone has ordered the red/black carbon fiber hood from deftracing. It looks really good on the 240 bbut i need to see it on a talon to make my mind up.

in my opinion it will only look good on a darker red can like the one in the picture cant say ive seen anyone with it tho

I would think that it is to dark for the color red dsms come in. Why not just get a regular carbon ? To me it looks like it would look better on a maroon 2g than a red one. I duno

Would look good imo on a grey or black car with a red theme(red lugs on wheels, maybe an anodized red lip on the wheels)

you've got to think of it like an impressionist dot painting. your eye blends the colors of the dots (or in this case the red and black squares) to form the combination color you see when you're not real close. when you're real close, you can see red and black, however, if you're standing more than 3-5' away, it's going to look like maroon/purple.

it's not going to look right on a stock red dsm.

Well they actually have two different reds. the one on that 300gt is supposed to look maroon. They dont have any pics of the actual regular red/carbon hoods.

word. in my opinion, it'll only look good on neutral colors (black, white, greys), and dark red cars (wine, maroon, etc.).

that small picture in the corner sure looks like regular red kevlar to me... even if it is brighter red, it's still going to have the blending effect. the weave is just too tight for the human eye to differentiate the red from black except at close distances. your eyes just say, "screw it, it's maroon." if the weave was bigger, it would help a lot and not make it look like marron.


have you seen the yellow kevlar/carbon hoods? they look green...

no, that doesn't look green...

last time i saw the yellow/black, it looked green. i know i can find it but it might be later. i'd like to see the weave on that hood. it doesn't look too bad. that hood might also have a thin layer of yellow paint to help it look more yellow - i've seen that done before too.

That looks good on the s2k, but the sad part is regular black carbon would look better on cars that are red, black, white, grey, yellow and blue

i found it. this hood looks green. it's a yellow kevlar/carbon hood.

the weave doesn't help. you can see that when the yellow overlaps the black, the black shows through a little.

you can definitely tell that there is yellow and black when you look at the weave, but on the car, it looks green.

My buddy has a carbon fiber business, and that red will fade pink. Also, if you get silver, it will fade gold. Weird I know, but I wouldnt do it unless you are going to keep it out of the sun. The materials are different, but he did show me this new blue weave and Im actually having my whole interior carboned out with that color now, but I know that doesnt help you with a red car Sorry, just thought I would give you my opinion.
