how do i disable Daytime Runing lights?

anyone know how i can get rid of my daytime running lights on the front ??

Why would you want to? it is illegal to not have them on in canada.
I dont know any one who got a ticket for it, but why riskt he chance?

I used to work for the company that FIRST introduced the daytime running lights (which are now produced for Ford and GM vehicles), while other companies have their own systems.

However, I was unaware our cars even had DTRL's. I mean, when I turn on my car theres no lights on. I can flick on my parking lights, and then my headlights, and then my fog lights AND my headlights, and further yet my brights.. but I've yet to notice my car lighting up just cause I started the engine.

Anyone have some more info on this? Also, why would you want to disable them? It's illegal and they are quite a nice safety feature.

If i remember right, Eclipses in the usa never came with DRLs. Only talons in canada (i think) and the imported eclipses here.

though im not 100% sure (justw hat i was told)

There's a little black box on the drivers side behind the front bumper (kinda the exact opposite location of the SMIC) it's attached to the frame and there's 2 plugs going to it. One of them controls the DRL's use a little trial and error and you'll figure it out...thats what I did

is this the same black box that controlls teh high beams?
I was told to look there as my high beams dont work (but my drls do?)

Most DRL schemes work by running the high beam filaments in series, so that each one runs at about 6 volts. They're usually wired up backward, to boot.
I've never had to look into crippling them. But I did have to live with mousetrap seat belts in the 1G.
