Victoria,
yeah, pretty weird, I just had to pull some handy work to make a converter so I could plug a regular headphone jack into my cellphone for MP3 playing in the car (why don't they sell them? bastards).. everything works great, but I noticed while doing this that when I put the deck on the AUX setting (without anything plugged in) I could faintly hear music, I turned the deck up all the way, with no source.. and I can hear the damn radio station I'm tuned to, but while I'm on AUX.. it's faint, but there's a lot of static, this is definitly going to interfere with my sound quality, anybody have any suggestions?

actually no, it's a high end panasonic unit, it was in the car when I bought it, the deck is a few years old, but i have the receipt and it was ~$900, does the stock head unit even have AUX inputs?

I already looked it over, it was all professionally done, and wired to the door and aft speakers.. I think the aux cable are acting as some kind of antenna, I may need some kind of filter, I dunno.

I would check your wiring, maybe there is some interference from a stray wire that may be touching something else. If that doesn't fix it, it could also be an internal defect, which if the radio is $900 bucks I'm sure there is some type of warranty.
