What is better if ne one you know? PIAA Xtreme White Plus, Nokya Artic Purple, Raybrig Whitesonic, or Sylvania Silverstar for low and high beams? Im looking for a really bright bub that shines really bright, like the new luxury cars on the road today. I would like to here from ne one who has had any of these bulbs with their color, and if you would recommend them, or if you have switched bulbs int he past and which you feel is best because i wanna pick up some nice lights for my car. Thanks!

James

PIAA's are overpriced and overratted in my opinion. The Raybrig work pretty good. I don't know about the other two. I like the Eurolite brand of bulbs and mine work fine. They put light on the road and have a hyper whitish look to them.

If you have the cash I would get an HID Conversion kit off of ebay for $350-$370. You can have REAL HID lights that use less wattage and are blueish or purpleish or complete pure white.

Standard Halogen bulbs use 55watts and are 3500 Kelvan (measure of light)

REAL H.I.D Lights use 35 watts are:
6000 Kelvan = pure white
6500-7000 Kelvan = purpleish white
8000 Kelvan = blueish white

You can get really good deals on conversion kits on www.ebaymotors.com

Keep the stock bulbs... i read a whole thing on how the stock bulbs are brighter than most aftermarket bulbs. ALso they blow out so freakin fast... the purple ones are horrible... esp when they burn the purple off and turn two diffrent shades of pink.. ew...

I put a HID Conversion kit in my eclipse and those things are freakin bright... they get 2 thumbs up!

Jaybone, you're probably thinking of the Overboost article on the subject (it's linked to from the dsm.org website under Projects and Modifications: Lights. Definitely an article worth reading; unless you're going HID, you're probably wasting your time (unless all you want is the colored tint).
