I'm fairly new to this forum and this is my first actual post. I been into the whole dsm scene for a while and i was wondering if anyone could help me with ideas on good companies to buy air bag kits for our cars, cost isn't really an issue cause its only money!!!LOL. but any info or pics of your set ups would be of great help.:dsm:

oooh all the bad stories i have heard about bags make me only want adjustables. BAGS CAUSE YOU PAIN

What sort of things(bad) have you heard about bags? all my boys have them but they got them on s-10s, and Tacomas. I have good friend who has them on his wagon and hasn't had any problems but the company he got his from went out of business here about 5 months back.

hrmm, well, most of the bad stories ive heard have been about malfunctioning bags.. a friend of mines bag blew up for no reason once... that is a VERY LOUD sound!! and the same guy one time was just cruzing and his front left bag popped so he had to drive home with his car dragging the ground... ruining his front bumper. a lot of the stories have been from that one guy, maybe god doesnt think cavaliers should have bags....LOL

let me be the first to tell you...I see trucks, vans, suvs , cars on bags all the time at car shows and the only peopel w/ problems are the ones that don't fork out the extra money to do their setup right. We've had our heavy duty bags on our excursion for about 5 months running from 180-300 psi and haven't popped a bag. (Yes our truck does hot on 300 psi of Nitrogen). Just find a reputable place to install them regardless of the money. And if you don't want to spend the extra $ for a good setup then don't get them at all cause you'll end up spending more money the second time around.

Now do u have very much modding involved or is it basically ur bolt on replacement of the shocks type kits?thanks for all ur help and yea god was saying maybe people shouldnt have cavaliers

Well they actually have air cylinders for our cars. Bolt in jobby if you get the right kit. Cost anywhere from 1000-1500 to purchase. Ride is Cadillac-like so if you enjoy any kind of spirited driving around corners, this is not for you. If you just want the show look of a slammed car in the parking lot, go for it.

i had my 92 nissan hardbody on bags, and i couldnt agree more about FBI. every single thing i had on my truck came from them. i was into the whole minitrucking scean for 5 years, and built 4 trucks in that time, and FBI is the only place i will go in the future for parts. they are definatly the way to go for things like this. they sell one hell of a shaved door kit too. i just ordered mine yesterday. good luck man

i got a 95 gst on air cylinders and its sick as hell, dont even try air bags, the cylinder kit bolts right on and the hardest part is runing 9 wires for the switchbox. the outcome is the best mod for any show car. the ride is like a cady, and people trip when you drop the car at a stop light

sixsixsix, will you explain to me how air cylinders work? i know NOTHING about that kinda stuff..was wonderin if you could give me the jist of it.. oh, and how much did they cost?

yea waht company makes em and what are we lookin at for price for the air cylinders. also anyone know anything bout air shocks they are new to the scene.

You need to get rods....basically a hydraylic but runs on air instead.....like a solid bag that wont bust...

with airbags do they set you camber off bad and wear your tires because when you lay on the ground the tires boe out but if you raise it are the tires fine are will they wear faster

I have bags on my car and there is a little camber if you lower it. However it will not ride really well until you raise it to almost stock height while driving and tear wear is minimal. What I did was got an alignment at the ride height I prefer.

does anyone have an airbag kit on their car. . .if so, how is installation, and where can i find the best price. . .thanks:dsm:

give this shop a call..tell them mrcooley/Chris sent ya.. 913-829-SLAM and ask for Luke.

I have an air rie on my VW and it is ok, but it is heavy and non responsive, gerat if you are going for show though.

i recently got a 98' GSX. I'm planning on getting an electronic air suspension kit from kwpperformance. I just wanted to know is this air bag kit gonna kill my handling??? in the future i plan to do some suspension tuning, will i still be able to make my car handle really good with the air suspension???? i wouldn't normally get the air bags but i have to cuz of my front bumper.
please help and thanx...

I would strongly recommend NOT getting an air system if you are looking for handeling.

If I were you, get a different bumper and run coil overs or lowering springs.

I have known to many people that got rid of the air ride because of their poor handleing. If you are into the show style... go with air... you want to auto-x or dragrace... do NOT get them.

I can't tell what kinda of car you have because you have not taken the time to enter it, So I can not assume either show or go....

How bout filling in your car info to help answer questions in the future.
