I recently purchased a tachometer for my 95 RS, not realising that it has a distributorless ignition system. I have researched where i should connect the tach read wire, and the only guess i have is to tap into the crankshaft position sensor. Has anyone installed a tach on a 420A -2.0 DOHC? where should i cnnect the tach read wire?

there is a terminal coming off of the drivers side of your coil pack, cut open the insualtion around the wires, there is either a purple or green wire to tap into...I had a tach on my 97 RS, this is how I know

If you tap into your coil it will only give you half of the rpms. Look under your hood near the battery you will see your ecu pull the cover off it just snaps on . find the white wire in middle of the harness that is your tach wire. Tap into it and you will be good to go. I have a 95 rs and it took me two weeks to find out how to do this. Know one else would help me, so you are lucky i have done this before. Pm if you need anything else.

isnt there the same wire on a 1g ecu under the console, anyone know what wire it is, and is it safe to tap into it?

I WILL TELL YOU THE WIRE COMMING FROM THE FUSE BLOCK BUT YOU HAVE TO PM ME TO LET ME KNOW YOUR INTERESTED CAUSE I DON'T FEEL LIKE LOOKING FOR NOTHING
