By saying this in the title. I'm going to say yes. Also I wish you can see it but I put the HD DIY Front Lip on. Hell yeah, that shit works.

Where do you get the paint? I'm looking to paint my car soon and I painting my car silver. There is a paint shop close by me and they gave my brother a price of 150 for paint for a 60's vw bug. I was just wondering if you get the paint at a normal paint store. The paint for the bug may be a 3 step but im not sure. Yours looks nice and professional. How many cars have you painted?

Well im done with the painting part of $50 paint job! Love it. My car looks so much better. Ill do it again with another car. I just have to wet sand and buff. Really the paint went on so smooth I can just leave like it is for a while. The bottom of the car is getting painted black once I get some stock side skirts.

Yeah but your going to need a reducer or laquer thinner. I can't remember if the paint is enamel or a laquer base paint. If its enamel then use reducer and laquer thinner with laquer base paint.

I have been reading up and researching/contemplating doing the roller paint job for months now, and I decided to go for it I think. Considering I only payed $300 for my talon and the body is quite rough as it is, why not I figure. I have bought the following supplies so far for $65 -

4 pack 4" HD foam rollers round
4" roller with 4 HD foam rollers round and square
Mineral spirits
Tremclad "gloss yellow" acrylic enamel 1 gallon
220, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500

I am also figuring that most factory yellow paint jobs aren't really all that glossy to begin with, so hopefully I am able to achieve what I have in mind. I'll get a pic up of the test panel tomorrow after the first 2 coats and maybe after a wetsand with 400. Mostly just so I can get some opinions on the colour.

(Sorry for the small pic) I rolled this '90 Eclipse two years ago using Rustoleum high gloss enamels.

I made this color up since it was a color of a car that I used to have long time ago. Mixed in yellow, black and white with the stock green to get this color, thinned it up to water thickness using mineral spirits and rolled it with the foam roller.

I'ts definitely a trial and error in painting a vehicle using this method, but something new to learn about car painting.

Beppe that looks absolutly sick, I flat blacked a car with rustoleum and a gun and it looked good i cant wait to try it on a car i want to look good. I know it looks really good without all the sanding and polishing but to get that crisp reflection youl need to, then a clear coat and your car is golden

thanks man. yea i am in the process of the waiting game now for the paint to really cure a week, then i am going to wetsand buff and polish and i will post up my result sometime over the weekend.

as far as clear coat goes i am trying to find one by quart or gallon, i dont want to use duplicolor because i believe lacquer base paint will eat through enamel if i am not mistaken? i think you can put enamel over lacquer but not the other way around unless someone tells me other wise that has already done it??? i think urethane can go over enamel with no damage so you gotta be careful
