I want to paint my aftermarket aluminum wheels. Should I just paint them with Dupli-color or would it be better to take them to the local powdercoating shop, get them sand blasted and then powdercoated?

Some aluminum aftermarket wheels require a low temp powdercoat. I really don't know much about it, but some of the higher heat powdercoating techniques can lower the strenght of certain types of wheels.

Yeah that was my only concern anyone else know anything abotu this?

If you have the money for powdercoating, the longterm outcome is definitely worth it. Your local powdercoater, if reputable, should be able to advise you on the process for different types of material. Most likely you're not the first customer to have wheels powdercoated by them you know?

Sand the wheels and fix any curbs or dings in them best you can. Primer them yourself and take them to a shop and have them shoot them. My buddy can do them in his garage with an air compressor pretty cheap. Not professional but there wheels ya know? As far as the durability, whats different between your wheels and your sideskirts or doors?
Do your wheels actually take a more beating than the sides of your car? I know many people that painted there wheels with car paint and they have held up surprisingly well.

Just thought i'd toss out an alternate since powdercoating may get pricey.
