It's paintable black in color, and I was told to buy grey interior paint from the dealer. Is there any worthwhile way of avoiding this purchase from the dealer (would paint from Pep boys work as well)? I hate buying crap from satan, but I know some stuff is worth the extra $. Any tips?

Goto Home Depot and get some vinyl paint. It's flexable enough to put on interior trim and not have to worry about it. I did this with my Nissan and it turned out really good. If you've never done this before, let me know, or start an "Interior Painting" thread and I'm sure you can do this. I did it for the first time in my Nissan and it turned out flawless.
