Some stupid kid:cry: last year hit my car with a fairly good size rock last year just be for I out it away. There are 2 of them that really show the other mark that he put into it doesn't really show up but these dents are about 1 1/2" in diameter and are about 1/8" deep they are on the drivers door just down from the window about 3" just where the door has the round shape. I was just wondering if any one know how to remove them with out pint and if I could do it my self. Any Ideas!

PS> The paint is a little scratched off but I will just fix that for now with touch up paint until I get the money to repaint the hole car which I will do at some point.

Thanks,

there are a few ways to go about this...
the only ways i can think of will require to paint...

1)drill a small hole intot he dent, and then bolt in a rod or something and pull the dent out. Than use a little fiber glass and bondo to cover the hole.

2)this way is a little worse, but just get some fiber glass and lay it over the dent... first just fit the fiberglass into the dent, and keep adding layers untill it is a little thicht han apply some bodyfiller/bondo and sand it all down.

im sure there are other ways as well.

you can buy a dent puller offline. It uses 2 heavy duty suction cups and a small rubber "bumper" type thing. I forget how it works exactly but it is supposed to work fine. I dont even know what its called but im sure you could search for a dent puller and see what you come up with

If you go with the suction-cup dent puller idea, try using heat on the outside of the panel and having a friend hold some dry ice to the inside of the panel (obviously with gloves).

I dont think the suction cup idea will work the dents are only about 2"s in diameter so a 5" will now work and it is on the curved part of the door so I dont think that the suction cup will suck to the door. Does any one know how the paintless dent guys do this? A body shop guy said that he could have his paintless dent guy to do it but he said it would be like $600 to fix it and I cant afford that right now and I would like to learn how my self. Plus what can i screw up if I make it worse I can always fix then bondo and paint which I can do all my self except for paint. Any one have any ideas?

Yeah our paintless dent remover guy uses a rod about 1/8th - 1/6th of an inch and bends the tip about an inch down. He puts a wooden T handle at the top and sticks it down in there and twists against the dent.

oo i got a new idea, try pushing it fromt he inside...?
i dont know depending ont he place this may work?

The suction cup should still work on the door even if it is round, and they make attachments for smaller dents. I saw someone use it on a dent on the front fender (really round) and it worked great. Just an idea if you cant find anything else, those things cant be but about 20$ or so. Heres a good idea, try it, if it doesnt work, stick it all back in the package, staple the package back together and bring it back. Just buy it from walmart i bet they have it and they take back anything.

man i got 2 golf ball sized dents in my drivers door and everytime i see then my teeth cringe...

I would say try the "Ding King", Its a dent puller usually avalible at Walgreen's since its one of the on tv deals. I've used it before to pull small dents and larger dents in a fender. Works well, it uses a rod with to two stablizers and a suction cup in the middle, then you take some hot glue and glue the puller to the dented spot and then tighten a nut on top of the stablizerers which pulls the dent, pretty neat actually.

Yeah thats the suction cup one i was talking about the "ding king". I have seen a few people use that one and it works pretty nice. Just glue it on, let it dry, then twist the handle and out the dent comes. And dont worry the glue comes off.

Im in the same vote. Im kinda leary about those dent puller thingamajigs as I've heard on other forums that they dont work very well. Had anyone actually had experience using one of these things? Was it successful?

as long as your careful...worst comes to worst, youll still have the dent.

Yes, I'm curious to see if that thing actually does work. -- Back to the original post, did a kid THROW a rock at your car?? And why didn't you choke the life from him?

I didn't see it happen but they fessed up to braking the window out of the car that was next to mine and i have a police report but the damn kid was to young to take action on it. All i could do is take it to court and the parents wouldn't do any thing about it and i was having troubles lets just say now my X-wife and having an infant at the time made it tough to find time for court so i dropped it. But it did cross my mind to do that but o well if i did that then when i was young i probably should have been choked to because I'm sure i did some tarable things to.

Try taking the interior door panel off and using a small hammer to tap ithem out from the inside, so holes in your door needed.

I just ordered the Ding King for $16 shipped, so I will let you guys know how it worked out after it gets here and I use it.

Whoops, I forgot to reply back. I got it and it came with all of the stuff it was supposed to. I first tried it on a pretty decent size dent in the door. After about 8-10 pulls it didn't do much, but it did help a little. The dent is still there and is still noticable, but it made a small difference. I used to have a huge dent in the part of the body that goes between the rear quarter panel glass and the drivers window. First try it pulled the huge dent way out. After about 2 more pulls it was barely noticable at all that there was ever a dent there. :thumb: It worked great on the big dent, but not so much on the smaller dents. It did help and I would spend the money again just to get that one huge dent out.

Alright buddy I will give it a try. And as for fourregsixty3 how do you get a small hammer between the door skin and the sheet reinforcement the holds the inside door handle and all and beable to get a good enough swing at it to do anything unless you use a rod like mentioned above.
