I just have a simple question for everyone. What do yall think about tall spoilers. I dont wanna get hated on because I got a big alluminum spoiler. So heres the thread to talk about it. Lets hear your OPINION!
--> Later

I have a commando-style wing on mine, soo...I guess I like them. But ya know, I can understand why people don't like when someone thinks their ride is fast just cause' it got a wing. My wing doens't make me faster. If anything, it slows it down cause' it weighs more than the factory one. I just think they look cool IMO.:dsm:

I can understand about the ricers out there. My friends have the terminator wings on their Integra and Eclipse. My alluminum wing is lighter than my OEM wing and looks alot better. If I could get some of my DSM buddies to give me some donations (hint) (hint) I could do my body work and cover up the old holes now also. Keep 'em coming!! Later

See....that's one of the things I don't like about ricers and spoilers. If you're gonna do something, do it right or don't do it at all. IMO, most wings are tacky and overdone. Most contrast the factory styling of the car. Some are ok though. To each his own I guess, it doesn't really bug me much until I see a 5 foot tall park bench on the trunk of something like a Toyota Corolla.:barf:

The only "big" spoiler's I like if you consider them big are the supra turbo on a supra turbo, the spoiler that came on my 97 GSX, and I like the 3000GT spoilers 97-98. I really wasn't a fan of the 99 VR-4 combat spoiler.

im not a big fan of the big apr style aluminum wings.. the only "big" spoilers i like are the factory ones that come in the 97+ turbo/special edition eclipses.. and of course the big spoiler on the supras.. and i only like them on those cars.. again just my opinion..

:thumb: I am a big fan of most wings/spoilers. I think most of them help to make a car unique. Some times I do see them on cars that to me does not look right especially if it is a wimpy looking Corolla with 13 inch wheels and stickers. Wings should go with bodykits and big wheels.

I am a big fan of uniqueness and bodykits so for me part of the issue in tuning/designing is for your car to look unique. I personally would hate to have a fast DSM car that looks exactly the same as 20 or more guys on this page :barf: . I have to at least have a customized interior, custom rims or something that RADICALLY CHANGES me from anything considered mainstream. That is why I like the APR wing on my 1992 Talon so much. No one would ever think about putting one on a DSM and that makes it really unique. It looks good on my car and I get a lot of compliments on it quite a bit!!!

Ever since I saw the Fast & Furious I had never seen an aluminum wing in my area. So where I live it is unique and no one really has it even on a Honda or any import tuner car. I have to admit that I don't think I would like it as much if I lived in California or Florida and everybody and their friends all had the same cars and same style wings. That would drive me insane. It would be mundane and boring at that point. For me it has to be the only one or one of few to make me want it. I would prefer a "sleeper look" too if everyone I saw in my neighborood has bodykits, wings etc.
I can get into making a car fast, but I am not a home super mechanic and it costs quiet a bit to pay for aftermarket performance parts and labor to install them. So for me I would prefer to make my car look Showcar good as I can to me and if I can add bolt on parts to improve it over factory performance thats the best I can hope for with limited funds. Due to my car being a N/A auto with high miles, it is only a daily driver anyway. If I had a Turbo with low miles then I might get more into the just add performance mods and nothing else mindset, but even then being creative like I am I still would want my DSM car to be unique:thumb:

I like those big wings, if they are functional, and they go with the car. I too come from a place where that type of thing is rarely seen. I believe there is only one car in the town I live that has a large wing on it, and it's a neon four door. The guys trying hard to make it look good, but isn't getting very far. There was an accord driving around that didn't look bad with that type of wing, but that car was all rice. He heated the springs to lower the car. The camber was so far off on it, I swear it was driving on the inside of the rims, his fart pipe was held up by mechanics wire(and falling down as well), and his wing kept falling off because he used 3M double sided tape to put it on. You guys would laugh if you seen some of the "TUNERS" around here.:laugh:

There's a reason for that................:p

Well it's good to hear your opinions. I like my APR because it adds to the unique look I am looking for. I am not a ricer. If anything I am a die hard DSM. I enjoy stock eclipses to a point. But I like to have a unique look to turn heads around Texas. It also gives them something to look at when I beat them!! Keep the posting!

Eclipse TX- I was looking at your profile, just wondering how you ran a 15.03@94mph with just those mods on a NA?????:confused:

i think it all depends on the car and spoiler. some f&f wings look good but others dont.

I found 1 spoiler a few months ago...forgot the site. It was small, nice design....and over $1000. So, needless to say I'm still looking. I'll pass along anything I can find. I really need to go back to Japan and go shopping.
