rim sizes

hi i am new here and i am wondering what is the bigist size rim i can put on a 2g mitsubishi eclipse non turbo.... also with it the largest depth i can have like 18x8.5 or 18x9 thanks alot any help would be great...

I know you can put 19's on it but its not practical for most applications. A lot of the time they are used with really low profile tires. You can search the gallery for "19's" and you can see exactly how some would look on a 2g.

You "CAN" fit 19"s on the car... BUUUut, you can just put 18"s on it, and Lower the car 2 inches and it will fit like 19"s would anyways... atleast look that way :wink

not practical at all is correct. do a search and see what you come up with. I personally would not go with what is considered to be a large ass wheel for these cars. I think it would like just as sweet, if not more sweet, with some nice 17x8s with 225 or 235 series tires. However, it is YOUR car, you do what your heart feels. If you do go with 19s, bring the pics.

thanks alot guys i already have some 18 x 8 on some 215-35 r18 tires...... but what i am trying to figure out is if i have the clearance to get 18x8.5 or is 18x8 th widest i can go..... thanks alot again

The width of the rim has a lot to do with the offset of the wheel also. The general consensus with DSMers is to run a 7.5" or smaller rim. Many have gotten away with an 8" rim, but I've never seen an 8.5". Also, I can barely squeeze 235/45/17's under my fender, so you may have to get them rolled if you decide to go with a larger rim/tire combination.
