What is this supposed to plug into?

So this plug has been just hanging around ever since i got the car. Its from under the drivers seat and is in the same harness as the on that apparently has something to do with the evap vent control system. What is it for? Looks like just a power and ground wire to me. I dont have power seats (was that ever even an option?)

As far as i can remember that is the plug that hooks into the seatbelt latch on your right hand ( shift nob) side. That is the hook up that turns on the light when you dont have your seat belt on. There should be a plug that is on the bottom of the seat where that plugs in. You also have some plugs on the passenger side but they are just loose, i believe extra plugs are for power seats. You should have one pluged in and one not on the drivers side and one plug that is just loose on the passenger side if you do not have power seats.

No the plug for that is much smaller and its plugged in right now and it works. Any other ideas?

Then the larger one is for power seating. Thats all it is used for, its just because the wiring harness is the same for both the power seat model and the manual seat, so no worries it doesnt go to anything. Sorry for the confusion i thought the plug you had in your hand was the little one. Check under your passenger seat there should be another one under there as well.

sure why not but remember that some ppl on this board wouldnt give you rep points just because you said that so i wouldnt recommend saying that to anyone else.

Question.. any one know how many volts it runs on? (my multi meter is ont he fritz)
just wondering if i could hook it up to a power inverter or a power source for a car computer project?
Thanks.

voltage is probably not what would be a concern, but amperage. And if its a computer that is made to be in a car, it probably has a DC power supply or if your make your own, Im sure you can find a DC power supply so you dont need an inverter.

there are dc power suplies... they feed of 12v power i believe... thinking of getting one of them (havn't decided to go inverter or the dc to dc power suply) and was just hoping I could tap into that for easy power :D

And you probably could once your find the amperage supplied, Im just thinking it wouldnt be enough. If that line is supposed to go through the fuse block and has its own circuit and you dont have power seats, you will have to add the leads and then can put in whatever ampere fuse that would be good for your computer. and there would be no reason to get an inverter if you arent going to take the computer out of the car.
